Firebird Targets Do’s and Duh’s
Firebird Targets Do’s and Duh’s
Firebird Targets are super fun and extremely easy to use. But, we still get lots of questions about the proper use of Firebird Targets, so Ton Jones is here to offer some quick tips to make the most of your Firebird Targets.
- “My Targets aren’t sticking!”
Make sure the surface of the backing material is clean and dry. The adhesive sticker on the back can only do so much, so take a cloth or paper towel with you to dry off the material or wipe off any excessive dirt. Then, just peel, stick and shoot! - “I shot my target but it didn’t go off!”
Firebird Targets need a secure, firm backing in order to get the biggest boom. Flimsy cardboard or fiber board won’t be stiff enough for the target to go off. Likewise, if using unsecured plywood, then the result won’t be as awesome as it could be. If the target isn’t flat against a surface, then you might break or punch a hole through the target, leaving you without a heart-pounding boom. But, using a steel plate or other sturdy backing, you get powerful detonation! - “Can I use these on a clay pigeon?”
Firebird 65 BIO Target is specially designed to fit inside the bottom of a clay target. They fit so well, you can even load them into an automatic clay thrower and they’ll feed just fine! But, you’ve got to hit the front of a Firebird Target (the side with the writing on it) to ensure they’ll go off. So a crossing bird with the bottom of the clay exposed if the best shot to get that big blast.
