Are Firebird Detonating Targets Better Than Binary Kits?
Are Firebird Targets Better Than Binary Explosives?
It’s a question we get asked all the time: Are Firebird Targets better than Binary Explosives? We actually don’t see ourselves as the same type of product. Unlike the binary products out there, our product is safer and easier to use. Firebird Targets aren’t considered “explosives” and don’t have nearly the destructive force that binary kits have.
Firebird Targets feature a pyrotechnic compound contained in the sealed puck that give a bright flash, lots of smoke, and a loud report when shot. Though people have stacked multiple targets together (we don’t suggest doing this), our targets are designed to be used by themselves, unlike binary explosives can be mixed in large and dangerous sizes. Plus, binary compound targets start to decay the moment they’re mixed so any unused targets will be wasted. Unused Firebird Targets on the other hand, can be tossed back into your range bag and shot on a different day, so there’s no waste!
AR15.com also got asked this question a lot, so they recorded this totally rad video to explore the advantages of Firebird Targets over binary kits. Watch now!
