One question we get from a lot of folks who haven’t used our product is “How powerful is the blast from Firebird Targets?” That’s a little tough to answer because it really depends on two major things: What type of backing you’re using and Where you hit the target. A stiffer backing will cause a larger, louder, more significant reaction. Likewise, hitting the target in the middle will create a faster reaction leading to a bigger blast. Off-center hits will often still cause a detonation, but usually more flash than boom.

To test out just how powerful Firebird Targets are, Top Shot Dustin went out to the range armed with a couple of powerful air rifles. Dustin and Tiny Sniper put Firebird Targets on multiple surfaces and set them off with a .22 caliber pellet travelling at 600 fps. They blast Firebirds stuck to tin sheet panels, plywood, a 2×4, PVC pipe, steel purlin, cinder blocks and clay targets. Then, things get even more fun as they start shooting Firebirds on some more non-traditional surfaces like a TV, bowling pin, soda bottle, body armor, WileyX sunglasses, a fire extinguisher….even a toilet!
